First Post-Signs of spring

This is my first post on the new Granaries blog. It wasn't quite as easy as I thought it would be but that's because I was trying to get fancy with the graphics. Unfortunately that frustration has pushed all clever thoughts from my brain so this will definitely not go down in the annals of blog brilliance.
And now to the weather. Beautiful sunny spring day in the Peace. The snow banks at the side of the road are receding precipitously, water dripping and flowing everywhere. Must make it out to  the nordic trails  before it is too late for some good spring skiing. Have enjoyed introducing several guests to our impressive  over the season. All have been impressed with the conditions, flora and fauna and dedicated volunteer efforts.
The snowshoes were used a few times to explore the woods in the back forty and the ravine across the road. Hopefully the Ski Hill runs with my suggestion to add snowshoes to the rental line-up so more folks can enjoy this relatively easy winter sport on Bear Mountain with out having to imperil life and limb on the ski slope.
Have been noticing other signs of spring: The distant honking of geese winging back north after their winter sojourn, twittering of the bird chorus, busy magpies building nests and squirrels staking out new territory in the woods. Bob saw a fox run through the garden this morning and I heard many more yipping and barking in the other evening as I enjoyed a moonlight hot tub.
Time to run as I don't want to set up unreasonable expectations for future posts.

 Keep on springing, Heather
